Calligraphy and Hand Lettering Meet-up Practice Sessions

Each of my Meet-up Practice Sessions are free and completely self-led sessions where you decide what you are practicing on. All skill levels are welcome. It’s an opportunity to practice your techniques and styles with brush pens / fountain pens / illustrative lettering / iPad – Procreate / vectorising your lettering on laptops, etc.

Please make sure you bring your own pen and paper supplies along with various reference materials, like books or printouts that have a range of letterforms and styles that you wish to practice from.   If you’re unsure what to bring along, I’ve written some useful blog’s about a variety of pens and papers that offer suggestions and where to get them.  I also encourage you to look at the Brisbane City Council library’s online catalogue for calligraphy and lettering books that you can borrow in advance and use as a reference for the sessions.

As we are practicing in meeting rooms within various Brisbane City Council libraries, this strictly means: NO JARS OF INKS, NO DIP PENS WITH NIBS, NO WATERCOLOURS, NO PAINTS, NO BRUSHES, ETC. Lidded drinking water is fine.
